Introduction: Abdominoplasty is a surgical procedure on the belly to remove the excess and loose skin, tighten the belly muscles and remove or improve scars from operations in the lower belly. Multiple pregnancies, excessive weight loss and ageing are the common factors which cause the belly muscles and skin to become loose. A Total Abdominoplasty with Umbilical Translocation is a major surgery performed to correct these changes. We at VITAL CLINIC are doing this surgery by the safest ‘TUMESCENT TECHNIQUE’.
TUMESCENT TECHNIQUE: There is exceptional patient safety when Abdominoplasty is performed by tumescent technique used in liposuction, totally under local anaesthesia and without sedation. Tumescent Technique makes the procedure virtually bloodless and carries a very high safety profile. Patients are awake, well oriented, conversing throughout the procedure and are absolutely free from pain in the postoperative period. Patients are discharged from the clinic after an hour of surgery.

SURGERY PLAN: Picture 1: Skin area enclosed by the lines, from navel to just inside the pubic hair line, is removed. Picture 2: After tightening the muscles inside, the skin is pulled down, old navel is removed, a new navel is formed and skin is closed in layers. Picture 3: The final incision line falls inside the panty line.
