How much weight is reduced by liposuction? |
| Liposuction is not done for weight reduction. It should be clearly understood that weight can be reduced only by controlling your diet and doing regular exercise. Liposuction is done for permanent reduction of fat spots which are difficult to reduce or ‘resistant’ to diet and exercise.

What is Tumescent Technique and how is it beneficial? |
In tumescent technique, the ‘fat area’ is filled with large volume of ‘tumescent local anesthesia’. This brings about the following effects-
Very powerful local anesthesia is achieved which may last for 12-20 hours. |
The minute blood vessels in the area close down. Therefore there is virtually no bleeding or it may be totally insignificant. |
The procedure becomes very safe |

Why tumescent technique is the best way of doing liposuction? |
Tumescent liposuction is the best because-

The procedure is very cost-effective because of elimination of general anesthesia and overnight admission in the hospital/clinic. |
It eliminates the need for general anesthesia and therefore the possible side-effects and complications from GA are eliminated . |
The surgery becomes virtually bloodless. Therefore there is no ‘weakness’ afterwards. |
Being a virtually bloodless surgery, chances of blood collection in the operated area very little. |
‘High Volume’ fat removal (more than 1500 ml in one session), if required, is routinely done. |
You may go home immediately after surgery. There is usually no need for overnight stay at clinic or nursing home. |
Return to normal routine activities is very quick. |
After-operation pain is very less or insignificant. |
The cuts are very small (few mm only) and stitches are not required. The marks are insignificant.s |
Results are much better than any other method |

What is a ‘lipo-garment? |
| A lipo-garment is a surgical garment which you wear like an innerwear for a few weeks. It is an important component of post-operative care. It give support and comfort to the operated area and helps in ‘shrinking’ the skin after liposuction. A lipo-garment is custom made. You will be shown garment designs suitable for your requirements during the consultation.

What happens on the day of the surgery? |
| |
| You arrive at our clinic at least an hour or two before the scheduled time. You will be suitably dressed for surgery by our nurses. Vitals like blood pressure, pulse rate are recorded and some pre-medication is given. Surgery usually lasts from two to five hours depending upon the extent of the area or number of ‘spots’. After surgery you will rest at the clinic for few hours. You may be given some light refreshments. You may go home after the surgeon has made sure that everything is alright. |
