Introduction: FAT TRANSPLANTATION is a surgical procedure on face and other areas of body to fill up depressions, deep ageing lines and grooves so as to give a smooth, contoured and younger look. Fat for transplantation is removed from the patient’s own body areas like belly, hips or thighs and is prepared for filling in required areas. We at VITAL CLINIC are doing this surgery by the safest ‘TUMESCENT TECHNIQUE’, totally under local anaesthesia.
|
| |
| Typically Fat Transplantation is done to fill the following areas:
- Frown lines between the eyebrows
- ‘Crow’s feet’ on the outer angles of eyes
- Cheeks
- Depressed cheek bones
|
| TUMESCENT TECHNIQUE: There is exceptional patient safety when FAT TRANSPLANTATION is performed by tumescent technique used in liposuction, totally under local anaesthesia and without sedation. Tumescent Technique makes the procedure virtually bloodless and carries a very high safety profile. Patients are awake, well oriented, conversing throughout the procedure and are absolutely free from pain in the postoperative period. Patients are discharged from the clinic after an hour of surgery. |
|
| Patients have negligible blood loss during surgery, little or nil postoperative pain, and early healing. They are back to their normal activities within a week. TUMESCENT TECHNIQUE introduces a new dimension in patient safety. |
| |
| Patients undergoing FAT TRANSPLANTATION will need to get repeat sessions after about 5-6 months. Almost 60%-70% of injected fat usually gets absorbed. Therefore, initially the target area is over-filled by 50% of fat to compensate for later fat absorption. However, there are some PERMANENT FILLERS like GORE-TEX IMPLANTS, which are used for permanent subcutaneous (under the skin) augmentation (increasing the size). Their uses and indications are discussed during consultation. |
