Male Breast results from an imbalance between androgen (male hormone) and oestrogen (female hormone) activity. The visible effect of this is that boys develop prominent breasts, appearing as, Puffy Nipples, Gyno, Gynecomastia. Once the glands are laid down in the chest area, they do not regress. As the hormones stabilize, further development of the mammary glands stops. Gyno does not develop due to obesity (becoming fat). Obesity only increases the size of the breasts.
It is not true. Many boys who suffer from Gyno are in fact slim and athletic with little or no excess fat in their body. Many of them exercise regularly. Obesity causes more fat deposition in the breasts between and around the mammary glands. This causes a stretching of the glands inside out and boys develop, Puffy Nipples.
Gynaecomastia, Gyno, Puffy Nipples or Male breasts can cause severe mental tension in boys leading to :
Withdrawal from friends’ groups
Reluctance to expose themselves at swimming pools
Loss of interest in family group activities etc.
They lose focus on studies
become introvert to the extent that some boys may go into depression as well.
Rarely, it may lead to suicidal tendencies
Boys start walking with drooping shoulders to hide the chest bulge
They may stop participating in outdoor sports activities like walks, running, tennis.
Their lack of confidence is obvious in their walk.
They tend to sleep more on their belly
Wear excessively loose clothes
Start wearing tight under garments, Gyno / Gynecomastia Vest
Many start using dubious Gynecomastia treatment pills, Gynecomastia creams, etc with no results leading to frustration
Incidence of Gyno / Gynecomastia is very high. Almost 25-30% of boys suffer from this condition. It can be a very psychologically disturbing condition as boys are supposed to have flat, muscular chest. Breasts are not at all appropriate on boys’ chest.
